Julia Lenington says, "I started thinking about becoming a summer missionary when my older sister Rebekah became one in 2006. I noticed a big difference in her spiritual life when she came back from training camp, and her growth throughout the summer caught my attention. My summer as a trainee really opened my eyes to a lost world and helped me to refocus my spiritual life. I am now attending Pensacola Christian College and plan to go into youth ministries in the future. I love working with children and teens and seeing the joy they get when they accept Christ and realize God's love for them. This semester I have realized the huge debt that I owe to God, for His salvation and mercy, and I want a chance to repay Him as much as I can. I am excited to see how God will use me as well as what He will teach me." Julia will be a summer missionary. We are thrilled to have you on board with us.
Emily Sutter shares, "I was born into a Christian family, the kind of family that had never missed a church service. I guess that was because my Dad was the pastor of our church. Ever since I was born I always thought I was saved, but it wasn't until I was eight years old that I actually understood how bad sin is. One evening my mom was practicing the Wordless Book in our living room and I was there trying not to pay attention to her. When she got to the dark page, I heard, 'For the wages of sin is death...' for the hundredth time but I understood for the first time that sin was that serious. It was then and there that I was convicted of my sin, repented, and trusted in Jesus Christ as my Saviour. I would like to be a summer missionary trainee for Child Evangelism Fellowship of York County because I want to serve the Lord this summer and I think CEF is a great way to tell children in York about Jesus." This is Emily's first summer with CEF. We are grateful that you chose to serve with our ministry.
Lauren Stahl explains, "Last summer was the best experience of my life! It was such a joy to do God's work. There is nothing better than to serve the Lord. I have such a love for children, and I know it was God's purpose for me last year and for this summer. I know that God will provide for me." We are so excited to have Lauren return to Child Evangelism Fellowship of York County. This will be her second year as a summer missionary.
Laura Cook shares, "My experience this past summer was extremely rewarding. I was so blessed to see many children come to know Jesus as their Saviour. It was an incredible experience and I am looking forward to another wonderful summer with Child Evangelism Fellowship of York County." Laura will be a summer missionary trainee again. We look forward to her return. Welcome back!
We are grateful to the Lord for these four young ladies who are willing to serve the Lord. We certainly appreciate your prayers for their protection as they travel throughout York County, and also for the demanding two weeks of training at Summer Missionary Training School in Snydertown.
Operating a summer ministry with four young people requires finances to cover food, traveling expenses and salaries. The Summer Missionary will receive $250.00 a week and the Trainee will receive $175.00 a week. The estimated expenses will be $12,700.00.
We greatly appreciate your prayers for all our responsibilities. Will you pray and ask the Lord what part you may have in the summer ministry? Click here to see how to pray specifically for the Summer 2010 ministry.
